These mugs are for those folks that love being in the mountains and great forests. The carved scenes capture the essence of the beauty of the mountains in a Cobalt Blue glaze. As we sip our favaorite beverage, whether at work or at home; we're reminded of another place. They feel good in your hands while drinking hot coffee or tea. They are stout and have a true MUG feeling. Available in a Celedon and Blue Cobalt Glaze (See Same Artist Pieces below). The turned lip is very comfortable to drink from and each mug is footed and signed by the artist, including a stamp of referencing the national park. (Click on pic above for larger view). Each mug is approximately 16 ounces (medium/large mug), approximately 4 inches in height. These are high-fired, stoneware pieces (2300 + degrees, Cone 10) for maximum durability. Each piece is lead free, dishwasher and microwave safe. As with all hand crafted pottery the coloring and size will vary from piece to piece, making each piece a one-of-a-kind. Our potter is a west coaster, making pottery for over 20 years. "As well as designing and handcrafting each piece I also formulate the glazes. In respect to the glazes I love that which is reminiscent of rock; the surface and the colors, while still being functional, and that which feels good to the touch while in use."
